A Day Trip from Puebla

Just on the outskirts of Puebla, it’s a 25-minute taxi drive to visit the colonial city built on top of ancient archeological ruins. It’s a colorful and well-kept town that you can walk with plenty of shopping and restaurants to choose from. There are also many tour buses that leave from Central Zocalo Park in Puebla on a regular basis.

Cholula is the town of hidden treasures and wonders! With two volcanoes guarding ancient pyramids, and a church crowning one, it’s a place of architectural surprises. Cholula claims it as the largest pyramid by volume known to exist in the world.
And remember the mystery of 365 churches, each day with a divine touch. Cholula is an enchanting blend of history and modern charm, where every step is a delightful adventure!

The Best Things to Do in Cholula

Many things you can do on your own but there are some activities, I suggest a tour. I haven’t been on a bad tour yet. And they really know how to do it here in Mexico. They take all the stress of planning out of it so you can focus right on what you want to see.

Take the exhilarating self-propelled Turibike that is a party on wheels. you can find this fun drinking ride at the entrance to the Archaeology site.
Taste and buy local tequila. You can find a number of tasting rooms along the main tourist-walking streets.
Take the Turibus around Cholula and see some of the 365 churches in Puebla. You can hop on this tour bus from the main plaza. Just look for the ticket kiosk.
